About Caithness Show
Founded in 1830 Caithness Agricultural Society is a membership organisation that coordinates, administers and runs the annual Caithness Show. The north’s premier agricultural event and highlight of the Society calendar, this popular event is well attended by locals and tourists alike and is the largest event held in the county.
Caithness Show usually takes place on the 3rd Saturday in July and alternates venues between the Riverside and Westerseat grounds in Wick and Thurso East in Thurso.
The event promotes agriculture and rural industries in Caithness by showcasing the best livestock reared in the County as well as a large representation of trade stands and speciality food, drink and craft exhibitors.
The show features livestock competitions with horse, cattle and sheep sections as well as pigs, goats, rabbits, cavies and poultry. Our Industrial and Flower sections welcome entries from all ages and showcase a variety of local talents including baking, painting, photography, crafts and floral art.
The main ring hosts the star attraction and features a range of entertainment throughout the day including the parade of livestock champions and vintage tractor procession.
